About Tim Freeman

Commissioner Tim Freeman grew up in Douglas County, Oregon.  Tim worked as a field mechanic for Don Whitaker Logging to put himself through college and to support his family.  In 1991, Tim and his wife of 33 years purchased their own business, Freeman’s Garden Valley Shell, and operated it for 26 years. 

Commissioner Freeman became involved in public service when he was appointed to the Roseburg Budget Committee in 2001. In 2003 he was elected to the Roseburg City Council and began his public service.

Douglas County Commissioner (2015-Present):  2016 Board Chair, Executive Board Association of O&C Counties, currently serving as President of O&C Counties.  AOC Tri-Chair, Federal Forest Sub-Committee of AOC, Federal Forests Working Group, State Forest & Trust Lands Committee, & Western Interstate Region Board Member.

State Representative (2009-2015):  House Republican Leadership Team – Republican Whip, Oregon Homeland Security Council, Budget Ways & Means Subcommittee on Public Safety, Co-Chair of the Budget Ways & Means Subcommittee on Human Services, Full Joint Ways & Means Committee Member, House Rules Committee Member. Co-chair of The Special Joint Committee on Healthcare Transformation, House business and Labor Committee, House Taskforce on O&C County Payments, Co-chair House Taskforce on Small Business, Early Learning Council.

Roseburg City Council Member (2003-2008):  Roseburg City Council President, League of Oregon Cities Chair, General government Committee, Ambulance & Urban Renewal agency Board, ODOT Hwy 138 Study Steering Committee, Roseburg Public Safety Center Committee design & construction, Roseburg City Budget Committee (2001-2008)
